· Patricia will update the carpool database and post on yahoo groups

· If you are interested in forming a carpool or adding to an existing carpool please contact other families near your home

· We are not able to match families together to carpool – we just provide the information.

If you are not currently a member of yahoo groups and would like to be please email Mindy @

Please include any email address that you want included in the group. Your child’s name and grade next year for verification.

Traffic. We hate it, we live with it, and as an urban school, GCAA is bound to be challenged by it. During this growing phase in which we add a new grade level each year, the staff works to find the most expedient ways to get our students safely into school and on their way home.  We, as families, can do our parts by sharing rides and using mass transit.

The Parent Association compiles a list each year of families interested in carpooling, sorts it by ZIP Code and posts it in the parent Yahoo Group. If you are not a part of the Yahoo Group and would like to be, you may join via  If you are already a member, the list can be found in the Files section from the menu on the left side of the homepage.  If you want to be included on the car pool list this year, please email the following:

your name
student’s name and grade
address including ZIP Code

to Patricia Fletcher by clicking CARPOOL 2013-14 ( Once your child’s enrollment is verified, you will be added to the list.

The Metro Bus and Metrolink are also viable options to get to school, especially now that the Grand Metrolink station is reopened. Parents who are not familiar with using the bus system can practice riding with their children until they feel comfortable. Not only will it help the environment, it will also foster a stronger sense of independence and maturity in your student.
