Just as our school is growing, the GCAA Parent Association (PA) grows right along with it.  We meet regularly on the second Monday of each month (Mondays assure that we will not be fighting theater or concert traffic) at 6:30 in the north cafeteria.  During the 2012-13 school year, our November meeting will be on the first Monday, 11/5, as Veteran’s Day falls on the second.

We also maintain the GCAA Parent Yahoo Group, a closed online forum for discussion about issues and ideas related to helping GCAA be the best possible place for our kids.  This year, our officers are:

• President:  Mindy Carney, mom to Joerdan, 9^th grade
• Vice President:  Rhonda Holt, mom to Quinn, 7^th grade
• Secretary:  Michele Thomas, mom to Isabel, 7^th grade
• Treasurer:  Crystal Dancy, mom to Aevion, 9^th grade

We are committed to making the most of this school year and the resources available – especially other parents!  If you want to get involved, make sure you are part of the Yahoo group (join at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GrandCenterArtsAcademy/), and join us on September 10 at 6:30 for our first meeting of the year.  Mrs. Glickert, our principal, and/or Mrs. Hoffman, our vice-principal, attend our meetings as well to update us on the school year, address concerns, hear ideas and answer questions.  These meetings are the best time to get together and share ideas.  We’ll be discussing and forming committees and planning ways to productively support the school, and we need your help!
