GCAA’s Green Club has been using the space just to the west of our school to grow a wide variety of vegetables and herbs.
The club meets in Mr. Warren’s room on Thursdays from 4 – 5 p.m., and will welcome new members. They recently made their own herb butter using herbs they’d grown themselves. In preparation for the end of the outdoor growing season, the students are building two indoor Grow Labs.
So far the Green Club has tied tomatoes, dead-headed herbs, harvested tomatoes, herbs, peppers (hot and sweet), eggplant, squash and beans. Both lettuce and swiss chard were recently planted, and of course, the students keep the space weeded.
