Established in honor of GCAA founder, Lynne Glickert, The Impact Awards Event is the premiere fundraising dinner and awards event for the Theatre and Dance Department at Grand Center Arts Academy. This event supports educational programs that provide standards of excellence in the fields of theatre, dance, and learning within a diverse cultural arts curriculum which focuses on cultivating critical thinking, art making, technical development, and self discovery. The Impact Award Event honors individuals and organizations who are champions of change through their support, dedication, and involvement in the arts. Through their compassion and dedication to the arts and their ability to enrich ALL lives, the recipients of the Impact Awards leave a lasting impression, not only on the lives of aspiring artists, but on the greater St. Louis community.The 2015 Impact Awards Event recognized three honorees: Honoree: Lynne Glickert (Presenter: Keith Tyrone Williams) Honoree: Shakespeare Festival St. Louis (Presenter: Brandon Riley) Honoree: Dance St. Louis (Presenter: Chivas Merchant-Buckman) The evening included dance performances by GCAA Dance St Louis Scholarship Winners Anita Chisum, Kloe Amber Harris, and Maia Sims. The evening also included a theatre performance by Daniel Schmidt and Myasia Kisart: Those in attendance gave a special return-welcome to Lynne Glickert, who served as Principal of GCAA for its first five years.
