On February 26, 2015, hundreds of GCAA students performed "A Black History Celebration" under the new lights at the Sun Theater. If you forgot the names of all of the students participating, no problem at all: Here is a copy of the event Program. The new light system and sound system (phase I of a multi-phase project) were installed only a few days prior to the performance. Based on conversations with numerous students, teachers and parents, this technology was a welcome additions to the Sun Theater. It appears that we are now past those days when the music students struggled to see their written music on stage. Based on comments from those in the audience, this was a deeply moving performance from beginning to end. That said, numerous members of the audience commented to me that they were spellbound by the student performance of "The Ties That Bind," choreographed by GCAA Dance Department Teacher Keith Tyrone Williams. Although you will see numerous photos from this event on this page, you are also urged to visit the GCAA Flickr Photos (Link is also at the bottom of the GCAA Home Page), to see almost 200 photos from GCAA's "A Black History Celebration.
