GCAA Theater Students Perform in World Premier Theater Production

Sept. 4th – 7th several GCAA students will be performing alongside professionals as well as university students in a world premiere production titled “Cover,” at the Missouri Baptist University Theatre. GCAA students, Maria Pena, Rachel Yarbrough, Tazera Edwards, Myasia Kisart are in the cast. The play is directed by GCAA theater faculty member, Mr. Brandon Riley. At this writing, the team is working on a possible production for GCAA High School students during school hours on the afternoon of September 5.

“Cover” is an original play written by director Joy Powell and is based on the work done by The Covering House here in St. Louis. The Covering House seeks to provide a place of refuge and restoration for girls who have experienced sexual trafficking and sexual exploitation. Cover will explore the work of The Covering House as well as the young women who have survived and the ones still in the trenches standing against exploitation. Please show these strong young women your support as they tell a story that holds a mirror to the part of society we don’t always see.  For more information.
