Due to the popularity of last year's classical guitar class, GCAA is broadening it's program this fall. Currently there is an intermediate class which includes many of the kids from last year's class as well as a new class for beginners (pictured below). In all there are twenty six students studying classical guitar at GCAA. The classes are taught by Tom O'Brien, a veteran educator and guitarist. "Tom is a brilliant teacher and loves working with kids, says GCAA's Dan Rubright, who helped to set up this program, in partnership with the St. Louis Classical Guitar Society who provided the funding for the guitars and part of the the operating funds required. "His energy and humor are contagious and it's impossible not to feel a sense of fun and joy in the room. The kids are reading music within the first class period, playing simple tunes and learning a new technique." The courses run through the end of the semester, and possibly longer if funding can be secured.
