Here is a sneak peek of some of the dances you will see in the 1st annual Spring Dance Concert on April 4 or 5th at 7pm at Xavier Hall on the St. Louis University Campus. Every class will be performing a dance piece including works from special guest artists from Leverage Dance Theatre and MADCO. The dance you see in the bright costumes is a part of a weeklong residency with MADCO dancer, Lindsay Hawkins. “ A La Mode” originally premiered in 2005 while Mrs. Beier was in the company. Both MADCO performers were excited to work together again to showcase the talents of our high school dancers. After performing for GCAA’s dance concert, the 9th grade students will have the opportunity to dance with UMSL University students in their student dance concert. This performance takes place at the Touhill performing arts center on April 11-13 at 8 pm. Some of the other pictures include some of our 9th graders preparing for one of their performances with live music from our music department including 2 of our very own teachers. Come see the performance to find out who will be playing the music for our dancers. The dance department is excited to show the audience everyone’s hard work. Come join us the first week in April to see which dance will be selected to perform at Union Station for National Dance Week. If you haven’t got your tickets for our show on April 4th and 5th, you can still pay $5 for each ticket at the door. Seating is limited so, make sure you get there early to reserve your seat. We will see you then. [These photographs are by Erich Vieth, a GCAA parent. Click on these photos to view higher resolution versions].
