GCAA Basketball

Grand Center Arts Academy now has a school basketball team. Basketball has always been a passion of mine. When I found out that Grand Center Arts Academy did not have a team and was interested in having one, I was excited and overwhelmed at the same time. It was time to assemble a team. The middle school team currently consists of 6th, 7th and 8th grade boys and girls. In the future, we look to expand our program to the high school level. Both boys and girls play in the Kirkwood Junior Basketball League and we compete in various tournaments. The boys are also in the Mid-County League, playing teams that include Ladue and Clayton. Our team, "PAL Phoenix," is sponsored by the Police Athletic League. Along with PAL we have had other contributors to our program: Third Baptist Church led by Pastor Warren Hoffman, Saint Louis University Women’s basketball program, Andy Holshauser, and members of the wonderful staff at Grand Center Arts Academy, all of whom who have been very supportive. I must not forget our GCAA parents, who have been a driving force since day one. I am one of the coaches, and we are fortunate to have an excellent group of coaches and trainers, including Leslie Vincent, Eric Theby, Alexander Rearick. Enjoy the photos of this year's crop of basketball players representing GCAA.
