Rehearsals underway for Sideways Stories from Wayside School

Rehearsals began last week for GCAA’s production of SIDEWAYS STORIES FROM WAYSIDE SCHOOL by John Olive, based on the much-loved book for young people by Louis Sachar. Students are hard at work learning lines and blocking for the play, to be performed January 25 at 7:00 p. m. and January 26 at 4:00 and 7:00 p. m. in the 6th floor Theater Studio. The cast features 13 young GCAA actors who won their roles in a competitive audition process. The production is co-directed by Mr. Conners and Mrs. Kohring. Mrs. Clayton is overseeing design of the set and props and Mrs. Irving is serving as costume designer. Mr. Martin is providing musical support and Mrs. Hassenstab is choreographing a little bit of tango! Two 9th grade stage managers, JuJu Vieth and Tramisha Willis, are lending invaluable production support, and 9th grader Antonio Mosley is Assistant Director. Tickets will go on sale in January for a show you won’t want to miss! In the meantime, enjoy some photos JuJu Vieth recently took during rehearsal.
