Tickets are going fast for GCAA’s Halloween Dance for students to be held on Friday, October 26th at the Michigan Banquet Hall at 6409 Michigan Avenue in South City. Only 60 of 300 tickets remain, and the remaining tickets may be purchased on Monday, October 8 during lunch, or Tuesday and Thursday between 3:00-4:00 pm.
The dance will be held from 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm. Activities will include a live DJ and a costume contest (funniest, scariest, and most original). There will be snack food and drinks, as well as tons of picture opportunities.
Tickets are $5 each and are currently being sold during lunch. Raffle tickets will also be available to sit at a special VIP theme-decorated table at the party. Raffle tickets are $1 each or 10 box tops for education.
Students are allowed to purchase tickets for themselves and one guest from another school. Any guests from another school must be pre-registered before the dance.
The Halloween Dance is being organized by parents, and is a fundraiser for GCAA’s Theater Department. Proceeds will go toward installing the remaining items from Avalon Theatre’s generous donation, including hanging the curtains and mounting a lighting grid and stage lights in the Theatre Studio. Any remaining funds will be used for the school play in January, 2013.
Please remember costumes should be age-appropriate and not revealing, and should be free of depictions of alcohol, drugs or sexual content. All students should be prepared to remove masks at the door for identification purposes. For safety reasons, students will not be able to exit the building during the party without an adult to sign them out.
Parent volunteers are needed to donate snacks, cookies, and 2-liter bottles of soda. Parents who are interested in volunteering to help with the party may contact Heather Sparks at (314) 225-5948. Any other questions about the party can be directed to Erin Gonzalez at (314) 574-6497.
